Our PhD Student, Martina Bianco, was recognized with the Best Student Paper Award at the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Conference (EMBC) - the leading international conference in biomedical engineering - held in Copenhagen (Denmark) in July 2025. The authors are Martina Bianco, first author of the article, Andrea Scarciglia and Gaetano Valenza, and Claudio Bonanno (Department of Mathematics).
This discovery leads to a greater understanding of the dynamics of the cardiovascular system, paving the way for the development of new biomarkers capable of quantifying the risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
